The minty smell, the vibrant red and white color and the familiar shape of a candy cane is a staple Christmas tradition. Kids look forward to seeing dozens of those hanging on the tree, free to take anytime they want as long as they don’t spoil their dinner.
The candy cane tradition has been around for so long to the point that it has morphed into so many other flavors. Though many would argue that there’s nothing like the classic peppermint flavor, the candy industry has come up with many different flavors.
Some are good, and some are just totally bizarre. Personally, I would try most of these regardless of how weird and peculiar the flavors get.
But, see for yourself before you make any decisions.
Bizarre Candy Cane Flavors
Sriracha Candy Cane
I am a die hard fan of Sriracha, and I would totally give this a try. A Sriracha candy might be too weird for some especially to kids. Think of it this way; you’ll be sure your kids leave this one selection alone!
Cinnabon Candy Cane
Not at all bizarre but crazy because there’s no normal human being in this world who wouldn’t appreciate this! Buns from Cinnabon are legit and to turn into a candy cane flavor is pure genius!
Bacon Candy Cane
Everybody loves bacon. There’s no doubt about that. So, manufacturers thought, “Why don’t we make bacon flavored candy canes?” Seems like a solid idea, right? I have not tried this, but I would not mind a sweet, smoky, and savory candy this season.
Gravy Candy Cane
Did you say, “What??”. You and me both. I was honestly surprised to see gravy flavored candy canes out in the market. Have people gone completely wacko? Then again, who am I to talk? This might be the greatest tasting candy out there.
To try or not to try?
Wasabi Candy Cane
I love wasabi. Whether it be with my sushi, burgers and even in my fajitas, I enjoy it. I do not know how I would like it incorporated in my candy, though. Maybe it would be worth a try? This would be perfect for a dare game with friends this Christmas!
Pixy Stix Candy Cane
This one is totally not bizarre because we love Pixy Stix as they are. It’s just outrageously cool that they made candy canes out of it! The wonderful world of Wonka candies is truly magical and creative!
Starburst Candy Cane
The chewy fruity candy that is Starburst is a huge part of my childhood. There’s no doubt that these canes would be just as good as the chewy candy ones. Starburst is Starburst, and it will always be sweetly good!
Swedish Fish Candy Cane
Unusual? Yes. Bizarre? No. Genius? Yes!
Swedish Fish is another candy favorite and majority of the kids across the US will tell you the same. It’s a candy perfect for any time of the year. Why not make it more Christmas-y, right?
War Heads Candy Cane
If you’ve tried a War Head, you’d know how capable it is to scrunch up a face beyond recognition. Mind you; this is not for the faint-hearted. One War Head is torture enough. Imagine sucking on a whole candy cane until it’s finished?
One thing’s for sure, though. You’d be laughing at each other’s faces.
Pickle Candy Cane
Okay, I love pickles. I like them on my hotdogs and burgers. But, I probably would never have thought they’d make candy out of it. Would this be part of my Christmas bucket list this year? Weird as it may be, it’s worth a try!
Then again, who am I to talk? I enjoy eating pickles with peanut butter!
How bizarre and unusual are these flavors for you? Some are not that surprising, but, you can’t deny that some of these are out of this world.
So, if you want to stick to the usual red and white peppermint flavored ones, we won’t stop you. Because there are some mouth-watering recipes, you can incorporate your candy canes in! Check this out!
