Boost Productivity

If you want to be less stressed and overwhelmed, one of the best things you can do is find ways to boost your productivity.

The good news is that there are lots of ways you can do this, and although they might not all work for you, some definitely will, so it’s worth taking some time to think through them all and find the perfect solution. Here are just some to consider:

  • Time blocking: When you are able to block out certain amounts of time for each project or job that needs to be done, you’ll find you are able to focus more because you won’t get distracted due to multitasking.
  • Pomodoro technique: When you break your work into 25-minute intervals (known as Pomodoros) and then have short breaks in between, you can get into a good rhythm and never get too tired to be productive.
  • Digital detox: If you are able to stop using the internet – and social media especially – when you’re working, you’ll be less distracted. Try using a website blocker or productivity apps to help you.

Have A Relaxing Home Environment

It’s vital for modern professionals to have a place they can relax and unwind, whether they work from home or elsewhere. This is why making a relaxing home is so important. In this way, you’ll always be able to take care of your own well-being, helping you to be more productive and happy overall.

You might want to designate a specific area in your home where you can go to relax, for example. This could be a small reading nook or a den that is just yours – or it could be anything in between.

You can also make use of your outside space and ensure that is comfortable and relaxing too. A hot tub is a great idea, although you do need to keep your hot tub water clean so you can use it when you want to, and so it doesn’t become stressful.

Other ideas include having an area to sit peacefully, planting attractive flowers that smell good, and having an area where you can enjoy socialising with others.

Prioritise Self-Care

Modern professionals can very easily neglect their own self-care because they are so intent on finding success in their careers – they don’t have a proper work-life balance because of this, and it can make them unhappy or even unwell.

Life hacks to help you with this include a good morning routine that gives you enough time to have a sensible, healthy, enjoyable breakfast (this will give you energy until lunchtime, helping you to be more productive, but also improve your mood, helping you to be more open to ideas and opportunities).

Another great idea is to get up early and exercise or do some yoga – this will boost your circulation, help wake you up, and release endorphins which combat any stress you might be feeling.
