Pink and Orange Marble Nails: How to Achieve the Look

Creating pink and orange marble nails can be achieved in several ways. We have two different easy ways here for you to try at home.

Giving yourself a basic manicure is the first step to making this look professional. This includes cleaning the cuticles, buffing the nails, cleansing the nail of any oils with acetone, and applying a quality base coat.

Choose pink, orange, white, and grey nail polishes.

Do this next step one nail at a time so the polish doesn’t dry up too fast.

First, paint the base color with a neutral or white color, then drop the pink, white(if the base is not white), orange, and a few little dots of grey, being mindful of your placement on the nail.

You can cover the entire nail, just the tip, half the nail, a corner of each, or one accent nail. There are so many options.

After strategically placing your on your nail polish, use a striper brush to drag the colors from side to side and around in incomplete circles.

The second way of doing marble nails requires a cup of water and a toothpick.

Paint your nails with a base color of your choice. Pink or orange, then let them dry.

Put a single drop of the pink polish in the lukewarm water, then a single drop of the orange.

The colors will expand outwards, and you will want to continue to drop the colors one at a time at least 10/12 times into the cup.

At this point, it should look like a bullseye. You will take a toothpick and drag it through your bullseye from one side to the other. We suggest doing this at least three or four times, but you can drag the toothpick more than that. It all depends on the look you are going for.

Next, you will dip one or two nails down into the water. Make sure you hold your nails facing downwards.

Leave the nails in the water and use the other side of the toothpick to clear away the excess bullseye in the water. Wipe it on a paper towel.

Next, take your fingers out of the water and clean the excess polish on your finger. It will peel off kind of like a sticker, so sometimes tweezers are easier to use than your fingers.

Finish with the top coat of your choice, and voila! You have your at-home marble nail design.

How To Make Your Manicure Last Longer

Making your manicure last as long as possible is necessary when you have fabulous nail art to show off.

A few ways to ensure your manicure will last is to start by always prepping the nail base, as described above. When painting the nails, make sure every coat of polish caps the free edge, including the high-quality shiny top coat.

Use a sticky base coat to give the polish something to hold onto. Remember to cap the free edge. If you can, freshen up with a thin layer of top coat every few days, including capping your free edge and get into the habit of wearing gloves when you are cleaning.

Always clean any polish, including base and top coat, from the cuticle or finger with a flat brush and acetone or polish remover.

Pro Tip: File your nail to mirror the shape of your cuticle to help keep the nail from breaking easily.

That’s it, everything you need to know about making pink and orange marble nail art last longer. Don’t forget to have fun with it! Screenshot the photos you see here for nail inspo and enjoy!
