Is your beauty corner overflowing with makeup supplies?
Are you looking for some practical makeup storage ideas but can’t find anything that would work for your room or bathroom?
This article has some of the best ideas on organizing and storing your makeup out there. No matter how small space you have to work with, or how much makeup you have to put away, we are confident you will find a storage idea that will work for you.
Storing makeup and your beauty supplies can get out of control really easily as you continue expanding your collection. Having a storage system in place already, that allows you to expand on what you already have is really crucial.
The earlier you start, the easier it will be for you over time to keep your collection nice and tidy.
Don’t forget makeup can also go bad! If you’re storing your prized designer lipsticks in a drawer, they are likely to lose shape or even melt in the summer months.

Makeup Storage Ideas: Our Top Tips
Before you embark on the mission of finding the right storage solution for your makeup, here are a few handy tips that will help you make the whole process a lot smoother and easier:
- first and foremost, you don’t want to keep storing old beauty supplies. Go through your collection and put away any that have been open for longer than 12 months. 12 months is the standard use-by period on most beauty supplies.
- once you got only your good makeup handy, go through the collection again and put aside any that you have not used in the last 6 months or so. We often buy stuff that we thought we might like, but it just ends up collecting dust in our drawers
- in the summer, some of your makeup may not do well in the hot weather inside. Things like lipsticks need a cooler environment, so getting a mini beauty fridge might be a good investment, especially if you have a lot of designer lipsticks that you don’t want to melt.
- think about storage that’s not just pretty but also practical – a lot of open storage is great for easy access, but also collects a lot of dust
- think about the items you use the most, and have them within the easiest reach
- if you store your makeup in the bathroom, make sure the storage is good enough that no humidity gets inside – this might damage your makeup
