How to Choose Your Acrylic Easter Nails
Easter is the perfect time to get creative with your nails!
There are a number of things to consider when choosing your design. With our tips on picking the right set, you’ll be able to put together an Easter-themed manicure that’s as cute as it is fun.
1. Express yourself
First of all, think about what you want your nails to say about you. Are you a bunny lover? Do you like to go out and play in the fields? Are you a homebody who prefers to cozy up inside with some snacks? Whatever it is, there’s an acrylic nail design for it.
2. Consider what kind of nail shape you want
Do you want long nails or short ones? Maybe you’re a fan of the square or round shape? Or you want something in between. Whatever shape you choose, make sure it’s not too thick or thin – you want them to look natural! And don’t forget – make sure that the size is just right for your hands.
3. Pick out the colors
Think about the color of your nail bed. Opt for a shade that matches your complexion – this will make your nails look natural, longer and blend in well with your skin tone.
If you have an accent nail (any nail that’s painted a different color than the rest) you should try something bright and fun! You can also incorporate patterns and glitter into your design – it won’t go unnoticed!
Maintenance Tips for Acrylic Nails
Acrylic nails are a popular choice for many people, but they require a lot of maintenance.
Here are our pro tips for taking care of your new acrylics:
1. Don’t pick at them
Your nails might be fragile and prone to cracking. So be gentle and avoid any unnecessary tugging or pulling when you’re doing chores around the house. This is your time to act like a princess!
2. Keep them clean
Acrylics can trap dirt, which can cause infections if not cleaned regularly and thoroughly. Soak your hands in warm water with soap or use an antibacterial scrub to remove excess residue from underneath the nail.
However, avoid soaking your nails in water for more than 5 minutes at a time. This can cause premature wear and damage to the nail bed.
3. Be careful when using nail polish remover
If you’re using acetone-based polish removers (the ones that dry out your skin) – save them for after you’ve removed your acrylics. This way you won’t dissolve the glue holding them on. Also, make sure there aren’t any open wounds under your nails before applying polish remover, as this could cause serious damage if infected.
4. Be careful not to use too much product during application
You don’t want to waste any money, and you’ll save yourself a headache by avoiding overuse. Less is more!
5. Don’t use your nails as tools
If you need something opened – it’s better to try using a pair of scissors or another tool instead of your new festive set of nails. They deserve better than that!
6. Give them extra love and care
Keep your hands warm and dry during the winter months. Wear gloves and keep your hands in pockets or under blankets as much as possible. Also, don’t forget to apply cuticle oil daily.
7. Maintenance is key
If you’re going to be wearing your nails for an extended period of time (like for a wedding), make sure that you schedule a maintenance appointment at least two weeks before. This way your nails will be in pristine shape for the big day!
