What time is it? It’s cocktail time and all you need is a refreshing cocktail. Sweet and salty flavor, rim cocktail glasses… Yes, feel the rhythm of the summer with classic homemade Margarita mix recipes.

If you haven’t decided what to do on Friday night, here you will find your answer! Grab the shakers, squeeze the limes, and pour some tequila.

Yes, it is not summer yet, but you can make a Caribean party at home and enjoy the exotic homemade Margarita cocktails. There are a variety of Margarita mix recipes- Passion fruit Margarita, peach, strawberry, blackberry, watermelon, or even pomegranate.

I love to experiment and to add something from me in any recipe I do, but today I will stick to the classic recipe of Margarita mix, served in classic margarita cocktail glasses with a salty rim. Feel free to experiment with a flavor or accent in your interpretation, and share your experience in the comments section.

Margarita Ingredients

The classic Margarita mix recipe is containing 3 ingredients only:

  • Tequila: the star of the cocktail
  • Freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • Orange liqueur

Additional ingredients that can make your Margarita even better:

  • Agave: if you like your margarita sweeter, add some agave syrup to sweeten up
  • Kosher salt: your cocktail wouldn’t be the same without a salted rim
  • Additional lime slices or wedges: for decoration

How To Make Homemade Margarita Mix

Making homemade Margarita mix is as easy as a child game.

Step 1: prepare your cocktail glasses. For a thicker salted rim dip the glass edge into lime juice first, and then follow into the salt.

Step 2: Mix the ingredients into a shaker, or mason jar if you don’t have a shaker. Follow the proportions 2:2:1 or in other words 2 part tequila, 2 part lime juice, 1 part orange liqueur. Of course, if you like to be sweeter, add some agave syrup

Step 3: Once all the ingredients are in, just shake it. I usually put the music on while I am cooking, so follow the rhythm of your favorite song to make sure the cocktail is well prepared.

Step 4: Add some ice cubes into the salted cocktail glasses. Pour your perfect homemade Margarita mix and decorate with some slices of lime. Feel free to add colorful straws or cocktail umbrellas for a more festive feeling.

Easy, tasty, and refreshing… Perfect for the upcoming weekend! Cheers!
