8 Simple Ways to Jazz up Date Nights with your Husband

Many times have I heard from my married friends how their date nights have been getting so routine and predictable. There was no element of surprise or too common already. In all honesty, that will really happen at some point. There’s only so much you can do on a regular basis.

Some couples they still enjoy the simple dinner and conversing over wine without the kids. Maybe because they barely have the time to do even something that simple which is why there’s more appreciation for it. But, what about for the couples who have no kids and have more time on their hands?

The good news? There are simple ways to jazz up your date nights with your hubby. Some may require extra budget, but some just require a little bit more effort and creativity.

Here is out list.

If you want something more spontaneous, get you and your hubby a date night box by The Idea Box Kids.

Originally designed for kids and their parents, you and your hubby might find these child approved dates for your date nights. It can be as simple as grabbing ice cream together or something as crazy as sharing the first food item you see in the grocery.

You can even make one of your own by changing up the activities on the wooden pegs. Making your own date night box can even be one of your date nights!

Recreate Your Favorite Movie Scene

Yes, I know it can be cheesy. I thought so too until a friend of mine told me they actually tried it. They did not follow the exact look and all, but they did the same things from their favorite movie.

I was laughing hysterically when she told me how they recreated The Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene. They were covered with spaghetti sauce, laughing at each other and wondered how ridiculous they looked. But, they had so much fun and have not laughed with each other for a long time like they did that night. They looked ridiculous but it made them realize that because it was done with the right person, they didn’t mind looking ridiculous. That’s what marriage is supposed to be – wanting to do everything with the same person no regrets.

Surprise Him with an “All About Him” Night

Nothing will surprise your husband more than a date night themed around something that he really loves.

Imagine him coming home after a long day at work and finding you wearing his favorite NFL team’s jersey with a fully packed snack box and beer in front of the flat screen. You’d probably see the child on Christmas morn look on his face. If he’s not a football fan, go for what he likes – NBA, baseball, UFC, Nascar or whatever. It can even be a poker night with your other couple friends! As long as it’s something he totally loves, is comfortable with and looks forward to.

Movie Bingo

Download a movie bingo card and put all of you guys’ favorite movies. It can be whatever genre. Whoever gets a bingo first gets to choose a movie from the card. Be creative with your selections. If the kids are sound asleep, a hot romantic movie can lead to an even better night together if you know what I mean. ;)

Don’t forget to prepare his favorite snacks for extra good points!

If you want him to go through the day with anticipation, you can give him a little clue on what will be waiting for him at home. Send him a secret package at work. Include a message that he can only open it if he’s completely alone. The suspense is going to kill him, he’d want the day to end sooner.

Then, you can send him seductive text messages throughout the day to keep him on his toes. Prep what you need to like getting your kids to stay over at your parents if they live nearby or ask a friend to keep them for the night.

All you have to do is set the mood and lie waiting in your bedroom in your new sexy lingerie. Before the night ends, he’ll be looking forward to all your date nights to see what you’re going to do next. ;)

Meet Up for Drinks

Dress up in something he hasn’t seen you wear or have not seen you wear in a long time and meet up at your favorite bar for a night of drinks. You can pretend like you don’t know each other and have only met for the first time.

You can ask each other questions you would normally ask a person you’ve just met but you’re interested in. Flirt if you want! Actually, many marriage therapists recommend flirting with your husband so go for it. Then, go home together. You’re going to get that giddy feeling you get after scoring a date from a hot guy you met at the bar.
